J.K. Rowling — Harry Potter: Say no more!
Carl Hiaasen — His quirky stories and even quirkier characters are really fun to read. Check out Lucky You and Stormy Weather.
James W. Hall — Enthralling suspense with recurring character, Thorn, and others. Try Mean High Tide and Bones of Coral.
Michael Crichton — This master of sci-fi has many great ones to pick from: Jurassic Park, Congo, Prey, etc.
Clive Barker — He has a knack for creating really interesting alternate worlds. Some of my favorites are Sacrament and Galilee.
Stephen King — He has written so much stuff, some of it good, and some of it not so good. However, The Green Mile is one of the best books I've ever read.
